Cumulative quantity control chart for the mixture of inverse Rayleigh process

چکیده
The engineering processes are made up of a number of the phenomenons working together that may lead to defects with multiple causes. In order to model such types of multiple cause defect systems we may not rely on simple probability models and hence, the need arises for mixture models. The commonly used control charts are based on simple models with the assumption that the process is working under the single cause defect system. This study proposes a control chart for the two component mixture of inverse Rayleigh distribution. The proposed chart namely IRMQC chart is based on mixture cumulative quantity using the quantity of product inspected until specified numbers of defects are observed. The single cause chart is also discussed as a special case of the proposed mixture cumulative quantity chart. The control structure of the proposed chart is designed, and its performance is evaluated in terms of some useful measures, including average run length (ARL), expected quality loss (EQL) and relative ARL (RARL). An illustrative example along a case study, is also given to highlight the practical aspects of the proposal. 2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Cumulative Count of Conforming (CCC) charts are utilized for monitoring the quality characteristics in high-quality processes. Executive cost of control charts is a motivation for researchers to design them with the lowest cost. Usually in most researches, only one objective named cost function is minimized subject to statistical constraints, which is not effective method for economic-statistic...

The CCC-r chart is developed based on cumulative count of a conforming (CCC) control chart that considers the cumulative number of items inspected until observing r nonconforming ones. Typically, the samples obtained from the process are analyzed through 100% inspection to exploit the CCC-r chart. However, considering the inspection cost and time would limit its implementation. Usually, in monitoring schemes the nominal value of the process parameter is assumed known. However, this assumption is violated owing to costly sampling and lack of data particularly in healthcare systems. On the other hand, applying a fixed control limit for the risk-adjusted Bernoulli chart causes to a variable in-control average run length performance for patient populations with dissimilar...

The reliability data is getting used to monitor and improve the quality of products or services. Nowadays, most of products or services are the results of processes with dependent stages referred to as multi-stage process. In these processes, the quality characteristics are affected by the quality characteristics in the previous stages, called as cascade property. In some cases, it is not possi...
